Under a subaward with GOAL Honduras, the Hydrologic Research Center is providing technical assistance to a program entitled A Neighborhood Approach to Reduce Urban Disaster Risk in Three High Risk Neighborhoods in Tegucigalpa, Honduras”. The HRC tasks are designed to provide tailoring and calibration of numerical models for landslide assessment and for flood analysis with the local available data for the drainage area that covers the three districts of interest within Tegucigalpa (Jose Ángel Ulloa, Nueva Providencia, and Jose Arturo Duarte). HRC will also lead technical, technology-transfer workshops both at HRC in San Diego and in Tegucigalpa on the application of the science and technology tailored by HRC for the completed pilot studies and for the hands-on application in other areas (using the data and information from the Berlín District in Tegucigalpa).
