Sponsors: University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (NOAA Grant)
Collaborators: University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, USAID/OFDA, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (Nepal), Practical Action

The objective of this project was to work with the Nepal Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) and NGO Practical Action to facilitate the development of collaborations between the two organizations for an end-to-end flash flood early warning system program for the Kankai River basin in Nepal.   The primary focus for the DHM collaborative support to the program will be the application of information and data products developed from the South Asia Flash Flood Guidance (SAsia-FFG) system currently being implemented for the South Asia region.  Nepal is one of the countries included in the SAsia-FFG system. ). A roadmap was developed overviewing the objectives, work plans, implementation time frames, collaboration mechanisms, and organization responsibilities agreed to by DHM and Practical Action for collaboration on the Kankai River basin flash flood early warning system.
